Study program

The educational program under the GCSE consists of basic and advanced subjects and the program is expanded with additional hours and methods that promote continuous generation and development of analytical, logical, critical and conceptual thinking. In order to build an individual route of student development, the school provides the following directions: mathematics, Olympiad movement and project activities, as well as creative development and physical health.

For more in-depth study in mathematics, AIS has introduced additional hours of the main program and additional lessons after the main lessons, when a student can approach the teacher and ask questions he/she still has. The program is strengthened by the Olympic reserve, where students who have passed the selection process can study with teachers recognized in Kazakhstan as some of the strongest mathematicians, and learn effective ways of solving various problems, develop deeper logical thinking, and increase the level of mathematical culture.

The Olympiad movement is an ambitious project of AIS and an important component of the development of students' interests, abilities and talents. AIS has formed teams of “Olympic reserve” and annually renews the composition of the team consisting of students who prepare directly for Olympiads in mathematics, English, chemistry, biology, physics, Kazakh and Russian languages, etc. Solving Olympiad tasks perfectly trains the very unconventional thinking, flexibility of mind, the ability to apply the received and learned knowledge in various spheres. In addition, participation in Olympiads in a sense develops self-confidence, increases stress resistance. After all, the Olympiad is a kind of stress, and the ability to overcome it and fear is also important in “adult” life. Thus, participation in a subject Olympiad is not only a test of school knowledge, but also an excellent training and self-development. The Olympiad movement helps to identify and develop students' talents, is a tool for determining the educational trajectory and entering a university.

Project work is an important part of the educational process at AIS. Work in projects helps to change the attitude to problems: not to panic, but to look for solutions. It develops creative thinking (skills of reinventing existing things and creating new ones) and critical thinking (why it is necessary, for whom, how to do it, whether the result is good). It also helps to treat mistakes as feedback and opportunities to do better. Project activities provide an opportunity to organize student's learning activities with a reasonable balance between theory and practice, between academic knowledge and pragmatic skills. In addition to global competence lessons, students work in mini groups on solving research questions under the guidance of a supervisor represented by school teachers. They also work on larger-scale projects during extracurricular activities, visiting museums and theaters, where they learn to apply new solutions and defend their point of view through project activities.

In the afternoon, students can develop skills in music, theater, dance and visual arts in clubs and extracurricular activities. Thereby developing communication skills, public speaking, and discovering creative skills.

Physical health is one of the most important areas in AIS. The school provides balanced nutrition in accordance with sanitary norms, and many sports activities are organized among students, parents and school staff. Infrastructure and staff allow maximum involvement of students and harmonious realization of children's needs in sports. The list of additional education sections includes: soccer, volleyball, basketball, choreography, hip-hop, judo, taekwando, etc. Students have the choice and opportunity to develop sports skills according to their interests.
